It is incredible that so many business owners overlook the need to get their business properly and completely listed in the major (and minor) Search Engines. They erroneously think that because their business shows up when they search on the company name that they are listed. Nothing could be further from the truth.
To get you company to come up ehen people are doing Google or Yahoo searches on specific keywords related to your products or services, it has to first be registered on those search engines under those specific business categories. It is neither expensive nor time consuming to accomplish this, but most people just have not done it.
Many people have no qualms about paying for a display ad in the Yellow Pages which is hardly effective any more. But, at the same time, they have not taken advantage of the free listings available to them.
